Fine
art photographer John Shuptrine has been watching magic appear in darkroom
trays for over 30 years, a continued love affair with textures, shapes,
shadows and light. Primarily self-taught, John specializes in Black and White,
(non digital), but with frequent visits to the land of color. His interests
include Landscapes (both natural and urban) and close-up abstracts. His most
common camera used is a 4x5 field view camera.

has had numerous one-man shows in the Lynchburg Va. area including a recent
show in the New Image Gallery at James Madison University. He has won several
awards for his photography including a best in show at the Lynchburg Fine arts
Center Juried Photography Show.

October, 2005: John has a photograph, Wall
of Zion, published in the Black & White Magazine's annual photography
contest edition!
He received the Gold award for this photograph in the
Seascape/Water category. There were over 5000 entries and only 204
were published. Congratulations, John!
