Tennessee native, Brett Weaver, knew in early childhood that he was supposed to be an artist.  Today he is fulfilling that premonition by working as a fulltime painter, focusing on plein aire landscapes.  From small field studies to their translation to larger studio pieces, Weaver works tirelessly creating works that reflect his fascination with nature and the beauty of creation.

His attraction to landscape painting was fostered by the feelings of exploration and discovery he experienced when viewing the expansive paintings of Frederick Church and Albert Beirstadt.  As a frequent traveler to the western United States, he has seen firsthand the wide-open spaces and distances that give balance and strength to his own paintings.

Today, Weaver spends as much time as possible painting on location and continuously pursuing excellence in his work.  Weaver holds membership in the Chesnut Group of Plein Air Painters, and was recently awarded an associate membership in Oil Painters of America.
